Best sounding preamps in my studio
I spent 4 hours last night playing with guitar sounds, trying every pre I own through an SE C2S for a project and I must say I will be selling my current gear and buying another pair of your preamps. I was really surprised as I always go to my [big name-brand] preamps I have. No lie... but your pre amps are the best sounding pre amps in my studio. i will try your blue face pre's next. i will be flooding eBay this week selling my existing gear, they could not even stand next to your stuff. Easy to build. Sounds great!
I put the X12 preamp and power supply together in my own 1U rack case. The whole project including machining the chassis was 9.5 hours. Easy to follow instructions and all parts were present. It sounds great on first power up and all functions work. Only complaint is the mounting bolt for the torroidal is too long and makes contact with chassis top by over .125". A Mix-sweetener!
I got the PEQ-503's yesterday and played around with them last night. I am really thrilled with the sound quality of these things! I ended up switching the jumpers to the 60/180hz, 350/1k positions. It is going to work really well as a mix-sweetener on the project I am working on. Thanks for the great work! - Rob O., USA
