A customer built this 2-channel unit from FiveFish Studios kits. And when he was done, he took photos of his finished project.

2 channels X-12 with PSU.

Based from the pictures, I can tell he did an EXCELLENT DIY build, 5 STAR RATING. Attention to detail, very clean, meticulous.

Check it out.

Lookin very good.

I've noticed that most (if not all) pics of your completed kits employ twisted hookup wire and not shielded wire. Any reason for this?

I find them

a) easier to handle
b) performs better (less susceptible from noise, hum, buzz)

Of course, these are short runs inside the case.

For very short runs, using shielded wires is cumbersome and difficult, and I don't get much twists in that short span of length.

YMMV. Try it.

MUCH easier! So much so that I ripped out my shielded cables and threw them away from frustration. Twisted wiring works just fine.

Although I must admit, I'm having a lot of trouble getting my 22AWG wiring through the through-holes on the SC-1. The new molex connectors addition was a good move.

[and yes, I still haven't completed my SC-1 build.  ]
